beautiful music

A form of easy-listening music that once dominated FM radio. Consists mostly of string orchestra covers of pop and rock songs of the time. Also known as muzak. Almost an extinct format outside of satellite radio.

What ever happened to beautiful music?

music wing

The section of a school that contains all of the music rooms. Even if it's not a 'wing', the Music Kids call it that as a term of endearment. Some serious Music Nerds have spent eighteen hours at school-related functions due to this wing. Actually considered a second home by serious band nerds.

"Hey, have you seen -band nerd- lately?"

"I'd check the music wing."

advert music

A unique genre of music in that it only covers one group.

That group is Massive Attack.

The phrase is derived from James Morgan's belief that Massive Attack's music is only suitable for car adverts.

Put Wake Up Call on or something, but not that fucking advert music!

Musical Eargasum

Music that sounds so good it feels like it is fucking you in the ear.

I was sitting at Matt's house last night and had a musical eargasum!

Snuff music

Music produced by manipulating the original intent of the instrument thereby almost killing its original sound.

Pal 1: MNDR is a cool broad! she's all about hacked synths and stuff.

Pal 2: So she makes Snuff music? The Voodoo Organist falls in that category.

Pal 1: DJ Baby Bok Choy was spinning some fierce Snuff at Twilo last night!
