street cred

short for street credibility
(n)- repsect from urban communities. usually something essential for making it big in the rap world. it is wrongly percieved as being a straight up gansta or committing crimes. street cred is something one can earn, even a rich kid or suburb-dweller. if you have went through a tough childhood or life but have worked hard to make something of yourself (like me), then you can earn street cred, even if you are not from the streets. if ghetto kids like a rap artist who started out rich, but rapped about important things in life and is simply a good rapper, then that rapper has street cred. if you buy a rap album just because the rapper is gansta, then you are fucked up.
a funny thing is, most street rappers are not that great, some of the greatest lyricists of all time were not always from 'tha ghetto'

street family

A street family is a group of homeless teenagers. They average in age from 12 to 22 years old. A street family will have a so called "father" or "mother" figure who is (or both) head of the pack. A street family has a code amongst thiers that "everything that is yours is also ours" and if you don't hand it over your gonna get fucked up or possibly killed. If you are in a street family and you lie or snitch to the group, you will be killed. Members of a street family will hustle, steal, prostitute or sell dope in order to survive. Street family looks somewhat more colorful and diverse than a group of gutter punks and are not as smart too. Some street family groups look like townies that came out of the sewer.

Back in 2003 in Portland Oregon. A 22 year old retarded woman befriended a street family. The street family later killed her by stabbhing her and setting her on fire along the east banks of the Willamette river. The reason why she was killed is that she was suspected of spreading rumors that one of the members was doing a little prostitution.

Street Spic

A particular variety, or descendent, of the south american, latino heritage. Street spics can be commonly seen in L.A. & Southern California, and various other urban cities in the U.S. with a heavy Chicano influence.
The are typically, "hanging at the lowrider meet", under a bridge, spitting on high school teachers while bitching about "the white man", transporting marijuana, cocaine, meth, and/or other drugs, driving 1964 Chevrolet Impalas, wearing bandanas and button-up shirts with only the top button buttoned, and, fathering many, many children.

In general, they are Latino Gangsters; the "inner city", latino heritage Latin American; uneducated, but not always.

Example 1: (Commentator with a mexican-american accent): next up mang, in the '64 candy apple imapala, Luis Rodriguez!

Example 2: (IRS) "You are being investigated on the basis of claiming 13 children and 6 different dependents in the last 7 years while on welfare, yet you have DirectTV, a lowrider, a garage shop, and Catholic, gold jewelry"
