Arizona State University (also referred to as ASU, or Arizona State) is the largest public research university in the United States. ASU is spread across four campuses in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.
ASU was founded in 1885 as the Tempe Normal School for the Arizona Territory in Tempe, Arizona. In 1945, the school came under control of the Arizona Board of Regents and was renamed "Arizona State College."In 1958, a statewide ballot measure renamed the school "Arizona State University." From its original campus in Tempe, ASU expanded in 1984, establishing the West campus in northwest Phoenix, followed by the 1996 addition of the Polytechnic campus in eastern Mesa and the 2006 addition of the Downtown Phoenix campus. All four campuses are accredited as a single institution by the Higher Learning Commission.
I attend Arizona State University.

A TTRPG campaign where it takes a Railroad approach to setting the actions, but the DM makes no effort to form a coherent story. This makes the players feel like theyβve been blackout drunk for the duration of a session, or like theyβve been in a fugue.
βMan I wish I knew what that one politician guy said to us last session, if it werenβt such a fugue state railroad Iβd know what the fuck is happening in this game.β

A electorally irrelevant state that has historically trended toward one political party in national elections, but has an outside chance of being taken by a candidate of the opposite party. Although not needed to win an election, they would presumably be a good chance for the winner to rub their victory in the loser's face
"In this election, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Arizona, and Georgia are Obama's fuck you states. If even one of them swing his way, John McCain would never hear the end of it."

Term used by right wing snowflakes who are upset at being unable to call people the n word and wave guns out of car windows, almost always works one way and protectionism aimed at majority social groups is never criticised. Usually the people who use this term will want 100 year jail terms for people who 'disrespect' inanimate objects like flags and statues.
I can't discriminate against gays anymore, what a nanny state.

A 102 floor art-deco skyscraper in NYC. It stood as the world's tallest building for 41 years before being surpassed by the World Trade Center.
The Empire State Building is now once again the tallest structure in NYC and the second tallest in America.
The actual construction of the building started on St. Patrick's day, March 17. Because it opened during the Great Depression, much of its office space went unused and the building became known as the "Empty State Building".
The ESB holds many records, one less obvious one being the world's longest survived elevator fall, at 75 floors.
Floodlights that light the top of the building change seasonly and for different events.
The Empire State Building is pretty neat, if I should say so myself.

In America, the purpose of separation of church and state is to avoid 'excessive entanglement' of the two institutions. An important court ruling on the subject led to the Lemon Test, which holds three conditions on a government's actions: that it must have a legitimate secular purpose, must not have the primary effect of either advancing or inhibiting religion, and must not result in an "excessive entanglement" of the government and religion.
Separation of church and state is essential to modern goverment.
