The new wave of rotten garage music performed by untalented white suburban and rural 16-28 year olds. Originating in the foothills of Appalachia, this bland combo of hardcore/thrash/bad cover songs is performed at your local roller rink or bingo hall, with a typical attendance of about 80; mostly young impressionable girls who sleep with/go down on all members of said bands.
Your typical Fayettenam Metal band has a name in their title or a very short name that's easy for their stoner fans to remember. Examples include Land Mynd, Slick & the Uglies, Bow Down and Mental Pain. Many more exist but don't advertise.
Songs sung by these bands range from new Green Day and A7x to old 90's alt-rock set to a hardcore tempo, wherein the singer attempts to scream like an old-school death metaller, failing miserably. Guitarists tend to show off on stage, usually by imitating Jimi Hendrix. This is a prime example of their lack of life focus, as they spend most waking hours practicing an instrument that will make them no money.
Beware negativity around Fayettenam bands, as they do not handle criticism well, and you might wind up getting beaten up by their fans and harems.
Boy 1: I can play the guitar! And I know every Metallica and Green Day song! Let's form a band!
Boy 2: I love emo but won't admit it! I'll be in your band and we can impress the local school girls and they'll have to sleep with us! Let's go putz around the mall and hang up fliers!
Boy 3: Let's get stoned first and then tell everyone of our Fayettenam Metal, because we're proud to be the scum of the earth!
Girl 1: I want to sleep with some long-haired potheads and maybe take a shot in the mouth by a horrible bass player.
Girl 2: No problem! Let's put our diaphragms in and go to the Fayettenam Metal show. There will be plenty for the both of us.

Us "Metal Heads" received our name by our music, lifestyles, and fashion trends. Fashion trends can range depending on what type of Metal Head you are. Tight jeans, leather jackets, and curly hair were inspired by Thrash Bands in the 80's such as Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth. Death Metal fashion trends are alike in some ways. Tight jeans and sometimes leather jackets are worn, though hair styles usually differ. Hair styles for the Death Metal fan incude long greasy dark hair, sometimes straightened. (ex. Glen Benton, George Fisher) This look was inspired by bands like Death, Obituary, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse. Black Metal is far from the dressing style of Death and Thrash Metal. Black Metal (sometimes known as Viking Metal) clothing includes tight leather armor with spikes. Hair is usually dyed black and straightened. Dedicated fans or bands cover their faces with "Corpse Paint." This style is influenced by Mayhem, Bathory, and Emporer.The last type is not even considered to Metal to hardcore fans. This genre is called "Nu Metal". The clothing trends used by the Nu Metal fan are Emo. These people are known as posers.
The Metal Head has an interesting personality as well. They are quiet and friendly, but when angered, are the most dangerous people. Their anger, frustration, unreleased rage, and adrenaline rush create a deadly combination of power and is a force not to be reckoned with. Some of them are sometimes influenced by their favorite bands' lyrical content in fights. (ex. Cannibal Corpse, Obituary) This is what really makes them dangerous.
This is a dedication to all you other Metal Heads out there. Keep supporting Death, Black and Thrash.

Nu-metal :a genre of music which combines hip hop and heavy metal.
I'm extremely annoyed that people who see them selfves to be "real goths" continualy insult this genre of music saying it is for "posers".I wish to express my disgust with these people as they shoud not insult something just because it is not to thier taste(this is the behavour of a chav!)i listen to nu metal ,heavy metal, punk ,industrail, electronica it should not matter what music you listen to.

A misspelling of 'metalhead', usually made by unemployed weed-smoking losers who listen to 'classic rock' (whatever that is) and got beaten up by metalheads in high school.

Metal bands who put positive Christian references in their music. Such as, Demon Hunter, Disciple, As I Lay Dying, underOATH, Zao, and The Devil Wears Prada. Bands like, Slayer, Dimmu Borgir and Mudvayne, are not White Metal, Slayer expressly hate the Christian faith, and Dimmu Borgir is a Satanic BLACK Metal Band, most of their music consisting of references to Satan, black magic, pentacles, sacrafices etc. Bands like Evanescence, although, claiming to be Christian people are not a Christian band.. for they do not hold uplifting music or talk about God, but otherwise cause people to cut themselves to their music.
Rocker 1: "Dude, I LOVE white metal!!"
Rocker 2: "No way! What is your favorite white metal band!"
Rocker 1: "Dimmu Borgir!! I can only understand a bit of their music, but I know its Christian!!"
