thirst rap

“Rap” that isn’t even really rap. Every thirst rap song is made for teenage girls who say they listen to rap but really just want the lyrics for VSCO or Instagram captions. Songs are usually slow, use the word baby too many times, sappy af, and about a girl. Basically the “Milk and Honey” of rap music.

Basic white girl : OMG that song is SO good!
Everyone else : it’s basically thirst rap

Fap Rap

Term used to describe soulless, focus-group driven, highly synthetic and overproduced mainstream rap music, primarily from the 2010's, that lacks the creativity and soul associated with previous periods in hip hop history. Fap rap is an umbrella genre that not only includes mumble rap - it's most recent incarnation - but earlier 10's corporate pop rap like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, the Far East Movement., etc. See also butt rap.

The genre has its origins in the early-mid 00's with shameless, cynical pop acts such as the Black Eyed Peas, as well as less saccharine but still very cheesy one-hit-wonder Southern rappers like Soulja Boy and Mims. Once representing a small portion of sales within hip hop, the style has since become THE defining sound and ethos of mainstream rap.

Fap rap has many parallels to butt rock, a style of rock music (characterized by bands like Nickelback, Staind, Theory of a Deadman, Limp Bizkit, etc.) that all but entirely took over mainstream rock during the late 90's and 00's. The lack of variety, creativity, and quality standards within mainstream rock during this period may very well be the cause of the genres recent commercial demise. It is uncertain, yet entirely plausible, that fap rap will have a similar effect on hip hop in the coming years and decades.

Person 1: "Thank god 6ix9ine's in jail. Now mumble rap might finally be over and hip hop can recover"
Person 2: "Recover? No man, even with mumble rap gone, we've got a LONG way to go before mainstream rap is in anything resembling a healthy state again"
Person 1: "Yeah, you're right. I guess mumble rappers are only the latest in a long series of fap rappers dating back to before the start of the decade."
Person 2: "Right. As long as fap rappers Drake and Cardi B. are still more successful than everyone else, fap rap isn't going anywhere. Hip hop needs a revolution, like what rock and roll got in the 90's when grunge wiped out hair metal and 80's butt rock. Hopefully something like that happens in the 20's."

rap music

A musical genre which requires no musical talent whatsoever for a variety of reasons. EVERY SINGLE black person you see has written ryhmes hoping to turn them into rap songs, getting a good beat program for your computer, and buying a rhymign dictionary is not talent. I hear kids who listen to rap say the same about rock and metal yet, some popular rap songs have actual rock songs in them. For EX: A song with Ozzy Osbourne's crazy train, a song with the song we're not gonan take it(by twisted sister I think). You want to be recognized go pick up a guitar idolize Randy Rhoades and Zakk Wylde, can't forget hendrix :D.

I have nothing to write here, rap music sucks

Freestyle Rap

A Freestyle Rap can be made up of Lyrics that U wrote but yet, they are not to be fitted for any song you're doing. you jus have alot of hot Rhymes in there of sum shit u jus wanted to say and however U really wanted to say it..

and then u have Freestyle Rapping or just regular Freestyling where u jus go in an do this shit off the top of your head.

Common, KRS-ONE, Eyedea, Mos Def, MC Juice, Supernatural, and Sage Francis all Freestyle off the top of their heads..

While Murda Mook, T-Rex, Loaded Lux, Math Hoffa, Goodz, Arsenol, Reed Dollaz, and Cysserro, they all Write their shit down, but its not really fit for a song. they just random hot punchlines they can use in battles or whatever. so they good at making Freestyle Raps on sum random shit.

christian rap

Christian Rap can be used as a tool to express the message of Salvation through Jesus Christ to a person that would not reguraly be able to be reach with traditional preaching methods.

It gives a voice to ppl that didnt have a voice before in the urban culture.

There are many different styles of rap and hip hop. West Coast, East, Dirty South, Up North, Mid West, Memphis Tenn. Crunk All different Styles. Secular Rap doesnt own a culture or style. Many regular ppl get saved does it mean they lose their accent. Do they stop liking a style of music? I listened to secular rap all my life mostly including 3 6 mafia. After a life altering experience I now would condemn that music and would promote music with christian meanings. You might say this is lame. Checkout the music I listen to then. Google these artist. Loc Saint, Harmony Hisee, K Drama, Tha Crunkaholics, K-Lee, LeCrae, Mistagetitcrunk, A.G.E., Praverb tha Wyse, Governor, and many many more. I guess the real deal is once a person matures and relizes God is real and gives his life to Christ only christian rap will do, secular rap is all about living a fake fantasy, promoting lust, greed and things that will never satisfy a thirsty soul. jesus loves you believe this.
