Pulling an Ortiz

Pulling an Ortiz is the act of skipping either a break or lunch in favor of getting more work done. This phrase is only used if you are sure not to request overtime or any compensation for this extra work time, you do it out of the kindness of your heart, or rather the sense of accomplishment you get out of having done more for the company and customers.

The ultimate "Pulling an Ortiz" is when you come in to work on your day off just to check on your coworkers.

Let's just head out to lunch, Brian is going to be pulling an Ortiz.

Pulled A Webber

Refering to basketball. Calling a time out when you dont have any remaining. To pull a "webber"
North Carolina won the national title with a 77-71 victory in the final game over Michigan. The most memorable play in the championship game came in the last seconds as Chris Webber tried to call a timeout when double-teamed by North Carolina. Michigan had already used all of its timeouts, so Webber's gaffe resulted in a technical foul.

Jimmy: What a great game. 15 seconds to go and we are down only one point.
Timmy: Get the ball inbound Wally!
Jimmy: WHAT! Wally called a timeout with none left.
Timmy: I cant believe he pulled a webber.

Pulling a Teddy

Mysteriously getting "sick" and missing school whenever there is a test or quiz. Often someone who pulls a Teddy won't miss a full day and will simply come in late just after the test was taken or will get his/her parents to pick him/her up right before. They will almost always have a faked doctor's note.

Person 1: Where's John?
Person 2: He's got his mom to pick him up because he was "sick"
Person 1: Yeah right. He's just pulling a Teddy cause he doesn't want to take the Bio test
