Grasshopper refers to someone who changes their viewpoint or opinion depending on who they are around at the time. This term comes from at latest the early 1900s. The reference is to the animal as they hop around to different positions on a topic based on who they're near.

- In polite society Bob is referred to as a Grasshopper.
An unskilled Rocket League player who waits for the opponent to rebound the ball off their own goal so that the ball goes towards the opponents goal. This allows the player to easily take up the ball without any real skill.
