Music Television. Originally, it focused on music, but today it is more into pop culture. It plays mostly rap, during the rare times when it actually plays music. Produced shows like the Real World, Road Rules, the Inferno Punk'd, Made, TRL, and Direct Effect.
To see music videos, you're better off watching MTV Hits.

MTV videos takes the essence out of a song, and turns it into a slick marketing of a product. And this has resulted in investents in music easier to market e.g Britney

A crappy channel that shows "reality shows" 90% of the time and when it doesn't it has some crappy music on. Let me tell some of you MTV lovers out there, if there is a camera shoved in your face for a month and you get money for living in an apartment in New York it is not Reality.
Person 1: "Wanna watch MTV?"
Person 2: "No"
Person 1: "Why?"
Person 2: "Because The Real World is on for 10 hours straight"

A channel that now plays only reality shows that do not contain music, and are not real. Just like all the other reality shows, they are staged.
One gigant commercial trying to tell people that you are only worth living if you are hot, or can play music.
