*crickets chirp*

Used to point out or emphasise silence. (Well, not precisely silence, since chirping crickets make sound. But you get it.)

The idea is that you can only hear crickets when there are no other sounds, such as conversation or laughter. Often used to denote the awkward pause after a bad joke.

Joe: What's the sound of two drums and a cymbal falling over a cliff?
Ted: *tiredly* I don't know, Joe. What is the sound of two drums and a cymbal falling over a cliff?
Joe: baDUM-ksh!

*crickets chirp*

Joe: ...Oh, come on. That was funny.

Chirp Music

Music that is 176/88 BPM electronic dance music dominated by 808 bass lines, minimal synths and B'More inspired vocals.

The genre was created by Dr. Dabs (Mark Sandstorm) & Steezy Nicks with heavy if not all influence from works by Yheti (aka YhetiMaster).

There are a very specific set of rules to making this style of music which help to differentiate it from other genres such as Trap. These rules are as follows and are based off of a general honor system:

- Tempo: 176/88 BPM
- Time limit: 6 Hours
- 808 Bass lines

- Intros and outros should be very minimal and have only drums and a couple samples scattered so as to make DJ'ing simple in any format..
- Ghetto inspired samples and vocals
- Most if not all sounds are Eq'ed so as to not include any bass in the mix which helps to make room for the 808 to ring without interference.
-This style pulls its influences from from Rap, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Trap, B'more, House, and ChipTune.

Chirp of laziness

The background sound usually heard in Tik Tok videos of section 8 housing dwellers that neglect to replace the battery in the smoke detector.

Tyrone wasn't expecting the "chirp of laziness" to overpower his vocals in his latest gangsta rap video.

chirped the tires

1. When a person is has chirped the tires; it simply means that they put enough foot down on the gas pedal to make the tires chirp. It's not like they are smoking their tires; they just hit the gas enough to get a "chirp" sound from the rubber of the tire as the tire turns fast against the road.

1. I could not believe it! I was out with Grandma and she was driving and Grandpa and I were riding; and then GRANDMA chirped the tires when she took off! She was sick of the guy next to us cutting in and out of traffic so she chirped off and beat him to the next intersection before he could cut in front of her again. I was cracken up!
