Drinking Enemy

A friend or an acquaintance, that when booze is involved, proceeds to become your drinking enemy. This can be viewed in a positive light but extreme caution needs to be in place as the sole motivating factor for a Drinking Enemy is to take you down with them.

Greg, you are a great guy but you have made way too many drinking enemies in the past. Or,

Adam, you may be my drinking enemy, but will you be my Best Man?

lukewarm enemy

A person who is probably one of your closest friends but neither of you acknowledges that fact. They're somewhere between mortal enemy and best friend, hence the term "lukewarm".

Person One: Oh, is that your best friend? You hang out with them a lot.

Person Two: No, that's just my lukewarm enemy. It's a love-hate thing.

Enemy's friend

Someone rejected for being the friend of an enemy, for having ties to an enemy, rather than for the reason the enemy was rejected.

The guy would reject other people with ties to the person he was rejecting in order to reject the person, it was just the way things went. Rejecting an enemy's friends with an enemy kept things simple.

Enemy At The Gates

When you think you only feel like farting but when you actually fart you shit in your pants. The 'Gate' here refers to anum, i.e. asshole and the 'Enemy' to liquidified shit.

John: Now I'm gonna FART!

Mike: DON'T. There may be enemy at the gates waiting!

my enemy's enemy is my friend

a phrase used in The United States foreign policy since

the end of The Spanish-American War/Roosevelt Corollary (1898-1902) meaning :

as long as I (or my country) have a common enemy with a given person (or other country) I will take the risk that this friend (or allied country) of mine might later betray me.

Jason: James my man, I am doing a poli sci paper for school and am not sure what would be an appropriate epitome of the phrase my enemy's enemy is my friend.

James: The perfect epitome of this phrase would be IMHO, ask Henry Kissinger, one of the best experts of US Foreign Policy.
