Lunch Hostage

When someone doesn't believe that you actually have legit plans for lunch and holds you at bay until the other party contacts you and tells you that they are ready. This is done just to make sure that you're not ditching them.

I was going out to eat with the Missus and my Boos held me Lunch Hostage.

Hostage concern

The concern shown in a conversation when someone continuously brings up a personal crisis until the other parties are coerced to acknowledge and sympathize with the other person's issue.

James always finds a way to bring his financial problems into our conversations and won't stop until I show some hostage concern.

Video Hostage

when someone( specifically friends, family, coworkers) forces you to watch painfully unfunny or uninteresting videos .
A person who is forced to watch videos that either bore them to death or causes them to weep internally for how unfunny they are .

When someone is asked to watch a video that they know will be a waste of the next few minutes of their lives but they watch it anyway because they at least half-like the person.

My brother sat across me from me looking at something on his phone. He laughed boisterously. I jumped up and ran out of the room before I became his video hostage and was forced to watch people fall or get their balls smashed in.

Waiting for your bill at a restaurant, and it's taking forever. You're a check hostage

I'm stuck here at the table waiting here, I'm that waitress has us check hostaged.

hostage talker

Someone who starts a conversation with you when in fact you have no wish to speak to them, then talks for ages without giving you an opportunity to excuse yourself without appearing rude.

Hostage talkers either enjoy making you uncomfortable or are completely oblivious to the fact that they are not wanted. People likely to be hostage talkers are mothers, younger brothers, bosses or people to whom you owe money.

Dave: Why isn't Mike here yet?
Steve: I think he ran into Linda in the hallway.
Dave: Damn, then he'll be ages. She's a hostage talker.

Letting a fart go after holding many in due to being in the company of someone

I had been with my girlfriend and her parents all day. My stomach was aching due to holding the farts in fart napping, so I couldn't wait to leave the house and free the hostages.
