Prank VHS and DVD openings

Also called "Vyond Prank videos", it's a very controversial type of video in which a person uploads a video (in most locations involve around prank openings with the usage of film/show's cover as a thumbnail). However, it misleads a title and instead shows a edited clip of a clip from another copyrighted franchise, or a repeat of another user's video, and the description only shows saying that viewers have been trolled by this.

This controversial trend have been circulating around YouTube between early-mid 2015, and are still occasionally being uploaded to this very day.

"Prank VHS and DVD openings are one of the worst types of videos i have ever seen on entire YouTube website." - Orange Book

This DVD is enhanced with Disney's Fastplay

When you're watching a Disney movie and that dumbass thing plays that makes the entire group scrabble around for the remote before the message ends because it'll play 8 fucking 5 minute long advertisements if you don't

"This DVD is enhanced with Disney's Fastplay. Your movie and a selection of bonus features will begin automatically. To bypass FastPlay, select the Main Menu button at any time. Fastplay will begin in a moment..."

The Maleficent DVD Effect

The Maleficent DVD effect is a term used to describe the immense fear of a fictional character that also might've resided from a passion for the character. This fear could reside in nightmares, resurfacing of old fears from your childhood, etc. This term stems from my huge fear of Maleficent as a kid, and how when I woke up early in the morning, went to the living room, and would see the cover for the Maleficent movie DVD, I'd be scared out of my mind. It caused me to hide under blankets on the floor because I thought I saw her shadow and cast away anything that had Maleficent on it. The thing was, I was the one who wanted the DVD because we saw a bit of it at a drive-in, and I didn't get to see the full movie, so I ultimately became terrified of something I was deeply interested in.

Someone: "Dude... I started hyperfixating on Carrie like a month ago, and now, at the slightest mention of Carrie, I get nightmares, and my fear of the dark comes back. My dad had to take away the book and tell me to stop watching stuff about Carrie because of how scared I'd get."
Someone Else: "Yeah, sounds like the Maleficent DVD effect man."
Someone: "Huh?"
Someone Else: "Basically a fear of a specific fictional character that you like."
Someone: "Oh."

DVD-ja-vu

Situations: 1. When a digital movie starts playing before you get switched over to the video input, or

2. When a digital media source begins playback at some point other than the actual beginning.

Result: upon realizing the title is playing, but not from the beginning, the viewer must manually restart the show. Then, at some random point, the viewer reaches that spot where they had originally tuned in, causing a sense of dejavu, or DVD-ja-vu.

So I slipped an adult video into the DVD player and then we finished watching the news, but the damn thing auto-played, so when I switched over the movie was already playing. So, I started it over and 10 minutes later, BOOM! DVD-ja-vu.
