you fail at life

Exclamation of which many forms exist (i.e. you fail, you fail it, you suck at life), used after the subject has failed at performing an easy, simple or mundane task.

If said straightfaced and/or casually, the effect can be greater than that of other, milder insults. However, its use and effectiveness depend heavily upon timing.

Conversely, "I fail at life" can be used to acknowlege one's own failiure.

(Person A proceeds to open their front door, but in doing so slips and falls, causing them to wipe out on their front steps.)
Person B: "Wow. You fail at life."

Epic Fail Ale

Variant of Fail Ale; the uber Fail Ale.

Also, manslaughter case resulting from lethal excessive consumption of fail ale (usually forced).

Russ: Rowan, dude, enough with the funky brewing ingredients, remember your last Epic Fail Ale court appearance? Not only were you found guilty of dispatching your housemateโ€™s perfectly amiable boyfriend, the radiation poisoning left in the living room resulted in the ASPCA haranguing you for months over alleged chemical torture of your favourite goldfish, Floptimus Prime.

Row: No, Russell! You said youโ€™d never mention Floptimus Prime ever again! I loved him like a brother. *sobs*

Tucker Max Fail

Promising a groundbreaking innovative genre changing product; and then having to admit that nobody bought it, or was interested in it. An epic fail Characterized by constantly changing your story, denying that you said something you posted online only a few months before; and responding to substantive criticism by simply claiming that the critic is a loser.

Man, Windows Vista is a total Tucker Max fail!

Abort, Retry, Fail?

Abort, Retry Fail? or sometimes Abort, Retry, Ignore, Fail? was an error message displayed in DOS when unable to read data. The user is prompted to hit either A, R, I or F accordingly.

Abort - Aborts the operation.
Retry - Tries to read the data again.
Ignore - Hands "default data" to the application requesting the data.
Fail - Tries to continue without the data. Fail nearly always proves unsuccessful as it will result in missing data.

Retry is in most cases the only hope for success.

Data error reading Drive C:
Abort, Retry, Fail?

'Abort, Retry, Fail?' was the phrase some wormdog scrawled next to the door of the Edit Universe project room. And when the new dataspinners started working, fabricating their worlds on the huge organic comp systems, we'd remind them: if you see this message, {always} choose 'Retry.'

Fail n' Bail

Taking a job at which you fail to perform, deflect any questions about what you're doing by getting offended at the questions, and just before you get completely nailed for not doing what you're supposed to do, you bail out... admitting nothing.

What happened to your former CTO? Oh, man, he pulled a Fail n' Bail like you wouldn't believe. I should have known, because when I asked him what he did all day, he said "I'm offended by the question," and then didn't answer it.
