Emos comes in different shapes and sizes. Emos are very scary and you might find them out side of Hot Topic. DO NOT mistake them for Goth people. An Off Shoot Of 80's Punk, emo is basically a more femine version of punk.
the word emo comes from the word emotive NOT emotional as most people seem to think.
Emo fashion is generally tight jeans, long fringe with the back short, the fringes vary in colour (common colours being red, blue and blonde) but the short spikes are 90% of the time black the rest of the time they have long plantinum blonde hair.
band tshirts and stripy clothing are the norm in emo fashion as is normal shirts that have been modified by them.
in general emos are either christian or athiest though there are a percent who like to fancy the idea of being satanist (but fail miserable as satanism fails)
emo music is made up of many good bands and also many SHIT bands...shit ones being hawthorne heights, the used and underoath. good emo bands are escape the fate, from first to last and atreyu.
emo has been around for ages but it comes and goes, each time slightly different.
a large percent of emo's claim to be bisexual, around a third of the time this isnt true they just think it makes them seem cool.
scene emos are annoy little twats, who piss me off endlessly.
true emos..not scene that is..are usually cool people once you get to know them and soem of my closest friends are emo.

I've had enough of this shit that these fucking wankers post about emos. We are normal people we just dress wierd and feel emotions more than other people do. We arent just happy, we are very happy, not just sad we are very sad, we aren't just exited, we are very excited.
We don't like telling people that we are emo because of these fuckewits known as posers. They say they are emo and and they straighten their hair and dye it black and maybe start cutting because they say some person on TV and thought " hey that looks cool, let me piss off as many people as I can with it" These mother fuckers are the main reason for these bullshit stereotypes about emos.
Most of us just want to be left the fuck alone with our MCR, TØP and Fallout Boys. Some of us might cut, so what that's none of your fucking business so leave us alone!
Please if you see someone who cuts, don't bully them. How about actually fucking helping them you fuckewit! And dont assume that because someone weres black sneakers, black skinny jeans and hoodies and cut that they are emo

I Used To Hate Them Then I Realized some of them have fucked up parents who beat them and shit. have u ever thaught about what goes on at peoples houses fuck leave the emo kids alone let them listen to there music that not everyone likes the cutting part is stupid that why there are emos i hate but most of the ones i know dont. Emo is not short for the term emotional in this sense.Emo kids want to be differnt and don't follow mainstream like most people. They strive to be differnt. It is a genre of music which has been around since the 1970s and is not a trend just coming in! They are mostly depresses and hate the world and everyone in it! But we need to stop giving them such a hard time and so much ridiule! I Love emos!

Emo is NOT short for emotional and it has nothing to do with how you dress or wear your hair. It is, in FACT, an insult word created by punks in the 80's to call the guys in emotive hardcore punk bands. Unless you are in one of those bands, you are NOT emo, and never will be. Emotive hardcore music wasn't even just about being sad and depressed and hating yourself. Sure, some songs could be about that, but they could also be stupidly happy. The difference between emotive hardcore and regular punk is that emotive hardcore had more feelings incorporated into the music. The only reason why some people think that wearing eye liner and side bangs or cutting yourself makes you emo is mainly because of stores like Hot Topic, but guys in emotive hardcore bands wouldn't be caught dead dressed like that. If you cut yourself, then you have a problem and you should get help, but don't call yourself emo. Cutting and other forms of self-mutilation have nothing to do with the word "emo". Just because you have problems in your life and you cry a lot doesn't mean you're emo either. Also, don't tell other people that you're emo because A: you're not and B: you just make yourself look like a whiny and ignorant person who can't handle your own shit.
