stain your own lane

Doing something stupid in your area of expertise

I tell my scientist friend whose comments reveal his prejudices by dismissing the facts, don’t stain your own lane.

OurWorldNow (OWN)

This fucked up alliance in hero hunters who says they're all about non-stress but will sell out their founding members to gain a few spots in the rankings. Led by a clown poser who can't keep friends more than 2 weeks.

Did you see what happened in OurWorldNow (OWN)? Does anyone care about anything those basic bitches do anymore? Or are we all just here for their drama?

On your own head be it!

Idiom

used to tell someone that they will have to take full responsibility for what they plan to do

I am telling you, don't get married to her, she is a control freak but if you do then, on your own head be it!

If you want to quit a high-paying job to chase after some fantasy of being a travel writer, then on your own head be it!

Baking Their Own Bread

A term used to describe a fictional character's death as predictable.

The term is a reference to the 2009 blaxplotation parody film, Black Dynamite, in which a character describes the idyllic future he has planned with his wife, moments before he is killed.

"When we get back home, I'm gonna retire from the revolution, start a family, buy a home in the country, raise our own fruits and vegetables, bake our own bread! Yeah, bake our o-"

The character's description of his dreams for retirement and pastoral living were never mentioned before this point in the story, and were only revealed moments before his death, as a tongue in cheek way of endearing the character to the audience.

The movie's name sake, Black Dynamite, then reinforces this self-aware joke, by momentarily breaking the forth wall to say, "Who saw that coming. Uh- I mean who saw where that came from?"

The term can be used anytime you notice a previously ignored character talking about their wonderful future plans, in what you believe may be an attempt to give their death more gravitas.

"Uh oh, our two favorite characters are talking about running away to a safe island together to live happily ever after once this epic battle is over. I sure hope they live, but it sounds like their baking their own bread to me!"

"How did you know that character was going to get killed off?"

"Oh her? Didn't you see her talking about how all her dreams were coming true, just moments earlier? She was totally baking her own bread for the last ten minutes of this episode!"

OR

(Moments after a character is killed, one might shout)

"HE WAS GONNA BAKE IS OWN BREAD!"

dead on my own schedule

When you make plans to do something with someone else, but when the time comes you're still asleep.

"Thanks, Karina. I really appreciate it."
"No problem. Now, go to sleep, we leave tomorrow."

You wake up, and head to Karina's room. She's still asleep.
"Karina," you say, shaking her by the shoulder.
"Huh? Wha? Huh?" she says, waking up.
"It's time to go. We're leaving today."
"Finally. I'm fucking dead on my own schedule."
