Modern-day punk rock music genre. Emo music can be associated with any not-so-rebellious punk rock.
Not to be associated with any persons wearing tight pants, "cutting themselves", and boohooing about how much life sucks.
The people who claim to be emo are nothing more than emotional punk-rockers. Nuff said.

Emo is basically the evolved form of a punk rocker. Sad.

There are a few types of Emo,
1. A fake, poser, of someone who cuts because they are going through a hard time I.g, Someone important dying, or something. The poser wants to seem cool. ( But your not. )
2. A person who actually does cut because they actually are going through a hard time so they express their feelings through what they feel like wearing or listen to.
3. Someone who isn't emo at all, maybe into alternative stuff. They are labled emo, because maybe they have a bunch of hardcore band shirts or have died their hair RED and it turned out PURPLE!
Idiot eleven year old: Oh my god, You are so emo. Your hair is PURPLE!
Me: No, its not, you blueberry, its RED.
Idiot Eleven year old: No, its purple. Your so emo.
Me: Do you even know what emo means? I don't cut myself, retard.
Idiot eleven year old: Sure you don't. Emo.
Me: Blueberry.

Emotional. Labeled for people who listen to crappy music such as Brand New. They wear thick square black glasses and whine and complain about being so depressed

Emos are a misunderstood subculture. They listen to emo music. They wear dark, melodramatic clothes and makeup. Their culture is polluted by wannabes who go on about how their life is not easy and the world is against them. Their emotions are confuing to them, and they often feel depressed and/or misunderstood. Emos are somewhat similar to goths in their appearance, though not nearly as hardcore. They are often stereotyped for slitting their wrists, though this is certainly a rarity.

Although some people on here take things like emo is "emotional" or whatever it is sad to say that that is the NOW definition of it. im sorry to say that yes "emo" used to be something different in the late 90's but you people need to let go of that! its changed! EVERYTHING CHANGES!!!! GET OVER IT!!!! emo has now come to be "emotional" in fact if you want a pretty good definition of emo you can google video "i must be emo" cuz thats pretty damn close! emo has come to be a bunch of "depressed-cut yourself-im gonna right poems about killing myself but not actually do it" people. btw just to bug you people more! if your gonna cut yourself and talk about killing yourself get it over and done with because people are sick of hearing about it!
emo has become a bunch of sissy little kids whom generally the guys look like girls and girls like guys.
