A sort of human buffer-state; a conduit. Tool shed serving as metaphor for common ground, as he/she is often used, regarded -or taken advantage of- equally by opposing sides.
Tool-shed negroes are rare and generational. They usually have polarizing personalities and are of the intellectual/creative/free-spirited type (a lá James Baldwin, Michelle Obama, Kanye West et al.)
