light mask

The public act of using your phone to avoid eye contact with strangers and thus, social interaction. It is a bit anti-social, but we have all done it at some point or another. It is especially visible at night while people walk past strangers.

Diana: omg look! that man's moving closer to us.
Maria: It'll be fine, just pull out your 'light mask' and keep walking.

Double eyed mask

Someone who is always anonymous and quiet and never talks about anything about themselves at all. They often wear masks or bags with two eye holes in them, which is where this term originats namesake from.

She’s definitely a double eyed mask cause she doesn’t talk about anything about her life. She’s been quiet for quite a while and I want to ask her what’s happening with her but she won’t say anything. I am scared and worried for her and I want to help her somehow.

mullet mask

A respiratory mask that is incorrectly worn such that the user's nose is not covered, defeating its purpose. This is a play on the hairstyle term "mullet", as in: "It's may be all business below, but there's a coming-out party upstairs!"

Even outdoors, the infection quickly spread due to all of the mullet masks.
