Policy Debate

The most legit thing in the world. A debate round consists of eight speeches, four by both team, that are split up into two kinds: constructive and rebuttal, with 3-minute cross examinations after all of the constructives. Looks really good for college applications.

The average debater is a beast, and can read and think at almost inhuman speeds. Most have ridiculous egos, and for good reason; it's hard to be humble when you are the best kind of nerd on the planet. Capable of typing extremely fast and crazy buff from carrying tubs of evidence everywhere. Favorite words: legit, sketchy, spread, sexy

It is a well-known fact that policy debate trumps LD debate in every way.

First guy: Dude! Did you watch that policy debate!? That kid was sooo legit!
Second guy: I know! That framework was the work of angels!

Debating Kennedy

A term used to describe the death of a lifetime elected official while in office. Refers to the passing of Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts while also in office.

"Did you hear that John Murtha died today?"

- "Yup, he's another one Debating Kennedy right now."

Presidential debate

A day were everyone lost at least 500 brain cells watching. It's worse than a Fortnite parody- and that's saying something. It is also worse than back when I was in Vietnam war, standing in the front lines. There a 99.9 percent chance you get covid when watching it.

"You watched the Presidential debate last night?"
"Yeah, and I got covid because of it."

Trans Debate

Any internet debate that is unnecessarily polarized, often along ideological or emotional lines, that winds up with everyone frustrated and nothing productive happening. Such debates commonly happen over the rights and medical treatment of transgender individuals, but it can be over any topic and still have the term apply.

"Did you see the trans debate last night on discord?"
"Yea, that thing lasted for fucking hours before todd just muted everyone involved"

"Cmon guys, I don't want everyone getting into another trans debate over immigration of all things!"
