A euphemism for rejection due to unattractiveness and lack of confidence most often employed by internet dwellers. Actual friendzoning does exist though in just about every comedic movie made in the 90s.

(noun) A degrading form of exploitation. The female equivalent of a sleaze who sleeps with you and never calls. Except in this case the sleaze doesn't sleep with you and calls all the f*cking time.
An example of the friendzone is: Every woman's relationship with a nice guy she's not fucking. Ever.

The premium version of friendzone. Reserved for specific cases where someone in a relationship can't date but they still try anyway. Then the other person starts treating them less and less like someone special and eventually starts to flat out ignore them. Even worse if the person thinks it's completely their fault for not being good enough and devolves into being constantly lonely and never feeling anything but hopeless and useless. They just turn into "some kid who she used to want."

b: i thought some kid wasn't allowed to date
a: well it doesn't matter now she won't respond to him at all

1. a man thinking that a girl is so unspeakable happy that he is interested in her that he gives the excuse of 'being friendzoned' when a girl doesn't sleep with him or wants more than a week to get to know him
2. someone stuck with the illusion that he is so good looking someone will be blinded by their presence while having a horrible personality and therefore won't find a suther

The Friendzone is a space known by nice guys and incels as a term they often use when rejected by the uninterested party (often a woman). Sometimes the uninterested party is scared of other. The uninterested party often uses the term let's be friends to signal that they are uncomfortable around the party trying to get with them.
Nice guys and incels often use this term when they are upset at the uninterested party for "not giving them a chance"
Nice guy: Date me! Now!
Woman: Err, sorry, lets just be friends
Nice guy, later: How dare she put me into the friendzone! Don't she know how good of a person I am!? Of course she's going to go for the guy that abuses her!
