Bill: "Did you go home with that girl last night? She looked AMAZING!"
Bob: "Urgh...well, I 'went home' with her. I opened the front door & she started crying because my kitchen was dirty. Then she spent 3 hours cleaning it. Then she gave me a lecture on keeping a clean house 'because our babies will need good hygiene'. When I said 'our babies?', she cried on the floor for another 2 hours"
Bill: "Ikea girlfriend, huh?"
Bob: "Yup"

A term used to describe a something (usually a home or furniture) that, on the outside looks modern or minimalist but is, in reality, cheaply made, mass produced and low-quality.
i hate new suburban houses, they look like some backrooms found footage with that bland, lifeless look and that "fake modern" the Ikea feel
The devils work. Incredibly difficult to pronounce AND put together. Only couples who want to break up will try to build IKEA furniture together.

Woman: "what the hell is an apelviken?"

Yogesh's new house that looks like IKEA was shut down by the county cuz it was gonna crush Ari's greenhouse and break his dad's metal sculptures. Guy building house is definitely hitting on my mom and he's gross cuz he's bald and small chode.

'ikea (i know everything about) mentality' can be used as a phrase expression about a person with supercilliary attitude, belittling others. one who always thinks, s/he knows more than other people.
one my friend once told me they have a co-worker, very histaminic and does't have respect for others and she thinks nobody equals her amongst us, and we all feel really bad. i advised him, just ignore her IKEA MENTALITY.
