The feeling derived after suddenly saying something without thinking about it, therefore creating the desire to take back what you just said. Normally following with a slightly embarrassed, and guilty feeling.
Often this feeling occurs when one is trying to be funny, but many times what is said is either very stupid, or very rude. In most circumstances the speaker wonders why they even said it in the first place.
Sometimes, one can even get the instant take-back feeling for other people when they say something stupid.
STEVE: Well, god, Mia just broke up with me...
BOB: Mia was fat anyways
BOB: (Instant take-back feeling)
STEVE: Yeah...
BOB: Haha...um well, at least you can.. ya'know... date other girls and stuff now...
BOB: Sorry, I just got the instant take-back feeling...
The act of neutralizing a pejorative term, frequently a racial or gender-based slur, by applying it to oneself voluntarily, for example the use of the term nigga or dyke within the African-American and lesbian communities, respectively.
I was surprised that he called himself a fag, but he explained he was taking it back.

When someone tries to be funny by making any type of comment, but it's really not funny. Or someone says something that makes them seem goofy or stupid.
John: I can't wait till we go to Kings Island so I can meet Goofy and Mickey.
