When you send an email to a group, and someone on the grouplist has to write back to the group and 'dominate'. They have to get the last word and come across as the most superior in the group. Like when a dog humps another dog to dominate it.
Look at that reply. Dwight email humps me every time I send instructions to the team. He's such an insecure ass!

Adding names of people with increasing levels of power in an organization to the CC line on an email on each reply, thereby upping the โanteโ of the emailโs audience. This generally results in an email that should only be between 2 or 3 people having a CC line with 20 names on it and 87 replies.
Joe didn't like Mary's reply to his email, so he started a round of "Email Poker" by CCing her boss. โIโll see your project manager and raise you a vice president.โ

A "nine of emails" is the collective noun for when you recieve an annoying number of emails (not necessarily nine) from the one person whining about a particular topic. It originated on a bulletin board called "toys in the attic" when a poster called "Coach" who is prone to exageration would claim "I have recieved not one, not two, but nine, repeat nine, emails" whenever he wanted to make people think he had alot of support for his bullshit opinions. From there it became the standard joke when someone would whine to the webmaster about some bullshit.
"how many many emails did you recieve? not one, not two but nine?"
"a nine of emails have flooded in from some whining asshole"

Not wanting to write even one email, as such an act would necessitate tackling, or even thinking about, all the other emails stacked up in your Inbox. Occasionally shortened to albatross.
...sorry I haven't been in touch but I've been suffering from a major case of email albatross...

One who has a difficult time placing emails in the deleted file and an even harder time emptying the deleted file because of the finality of the action. They are afraid they may someday need one of those emails (although they never will)
At the time of this posting, I have exatly 6000 emails contained in my inbox. I am an email packrat!

Email shrapnel is a collection of partially written, un-finished, and most importantly unsent emails that collect, most of the time in outlook, during a particularly busy day or week.
The danger of having too much email shrapnel at any given time is that your outlook crashes and you lose those emails that you intended to send.
I need to get rid of the email shrapnel on my computer before I leave work for the weekend.
