There's a bunch of idiots on here that are shutting all over pop punk, blah blah blah it's an oxymoron we get it, pop punk is basically what the name is, a catcheir, happier, more melodic and sort of poppy version of punk music. The older sort of pop punk bands are Green Day, Blink 182 etc, newer bands include Neck Deep, The Story So Far, State Champs, WSTR, Northbound, ROAM, Columbus etc
Pop punk music has also (unfortunately) merged with the emo music genre, giving us bands such as all time low, my chemical romance and fall out boy. These bands aren't necessarily bad, they just have a large amount of emo kids supporting them, making the crowds and social media fantasies a tad irritating. (Plus, a few of these bands, ATL, FOB, have opted for a lot more of a poppy mainstream sound, making them a lot more pop than punk)

To be pop punk you have to be chill as frick.
You listen to real friends, wonder years, man overboard, being as an ocean, title fight, brand new, neck deep, la dispute, etc.
Most pop punk people say "stay posi" and eat pizza.
Person 1: Did you see that girl?
Person 2: yeah man, she's so pop punk!

An oxymoron. Pop music and punk music are complete opposites, making the term "pop punk" a worthless gimmick of a musical genre.

Pop/punk is a kind of punk rock with a very melodic sound. Bands that are pop/punk are
Screeching Weasel, NOFX, Riverdales, 88 Fingers Louie, The Ramones, and Rancid. Good Charlotte, Mest, blink-182, Simple Plan, McFly, Busted etc; are not pop/punk. They are power pop.

Skinny, nicely shaped legs that usually resemble the legs of a frontman of a Pop Punk band, hence the term "Pop Punk legs". Usually the person wears Shorts/Skinny jeans with Vans, Converse, Toms, etc.
Me: "Hey you have really Pop Punk legs!"
Random guy: "Uh... Thanks?"
Me: "They're just skinny and nicely shaped,"

The slogan for the band Man Overboard.
Started out as a joke from this band called The Effort. They had the exact same logo and slogan except it was "Destroy Pop Punk." Man Overboard jokingly turned it into Defend instead and now it's a warcry for kids who love pop punk everywhere.
"My Defend Pop Punk hoodie is the best."
