gener-rock

1) Plain, generic, commercial "hard rock" that is safe for radio play and appeals to a wider, more tame audience. It does not really adhere to the spirit of rock'n'roll. It seems more like a money making ploy than about the art, emotion, or rebellion. Rock that parents would approve of.

2) Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, etc.

"Get off the stage, this gener-rock blows."
-anyone who accidentally found themselves at a nickelback concert

"I can't believe he plays bass in that poppy emo band. In reality, he's into Phish. That doesn't make any sense. He's probably just in it for the money."
-about a soulless musician in a gener-rock band

Blarg Rock

Blarg Rock: Refers to an old Bloom County cartoon with "Billy and the Boingers" rock band watching Ozzy on stage. To quote Ozzy in Bloom County, "Bleeep, Blaaag, Bloop, Blaaarg!! Take it Benny!!! (Ozzy then thinks, "Hang in the Oz. There's a nice spot of hot tea waiting back at the Holiday Inn.)"

Adapted defintion, Blarg Rock: Screeeeching guitar, belching crude vocals, unncessary volume. (Think Pearl Jam strangling cats with L7, on a bad day, through blown speakers.)

Dood, I just got the new "Screech monkeyhead douchebags" album! They use a busted-up powerdrill for a guitar on every track!

Wha? That stuff is just crap Blarg Rock.

tooting the rock

slang term for someone who partakes in smoking crack.

Mavis decided that after her marathon boaby supper that she needed to take the edge off, and proceeded to toot the rock whilst recieving a cleveland steamer from Rick. Tooting the rock took her mind off the fact that she had just recieved a hot carl.

Hip-Rock

A forked genre fused with the lyrical floetry of rap, laced with the smooth blend of hip-hop, crossed with the hard acoustic sounds of guitar and drums, creating the "rock & roll" feel. Most popular subgenres include rap rock, rap metal, and rapcore. While very similar to rap rock, Hip-Rock comes a little more smoother on the hip hop side blending the common recipe of rap and hip hop while pushing the rock aspect to the forefront to create a broader fan base. Hip-Rock is not an artist's primary genre, rather a cross-over from hip hop to to rock to create a unique product; or a collaboration with a rocker and a hip-hop artist.

When Young Chizz teamed up with his rocker to create "Zebra Music", this awesome song was not hip hop, and it wasn't rock; it was Hip-Rock!
