Drinking Code

The guidelines for the when, where, what and most importantly how much drink for and event or meeting. Similar to a dress code.

Whilst not always necessary, the 'drinking code' can prevent embarrassment of turning up absolutely smashed to a barbecue at 11am

Guest 1: are you going to that party on Saturday?
Guest 2: yeah, but do you know what the 'drinking code' is?
Guest 1: apparently it's more of a lunch thing so don't pre too hard

code supremacist

a person who believes that coding is the end-all-be-all of the future.

Said person is likely to state that coding should be taught to all students as a mandatory subject, or that coding is going to be the future.

"Did you see that woman force this book of C++ on me?"
"Oh, don't mind her. She's a code supremacist. Just nod, then throw the book at the back of her head."

Code Rhino

used to identify a situation where a young, attractive woman is being uncomfortably hit on by a much older man. a "rhino" is identified by saggy skin, thinning hair, slight weight problem, and a horn that only works because of a magical blue pill.

Amy has a Code Rhino on her hands... that guy just won't take a hint!

The Code Rhino in the blue shirt just offered to be Eve's sugar-daddy.

Viner Code

Defined also as "Vine Code" is a line of code in a sequence or order. A technique of writing various dialogue or commands in a string like a vine or stock.

Developer: This Viner code looks good. The command sequence works really well.

Shorthand for "not understood". Inspired by the legendary sketch with two Scots failing to control a voice-activated lift.

Cargo Code

Code that is very similar to cargo pants, i.e. appears to have utility to the person writing it but is an embarrassment to all others, opening the developer (or wearer in the case of cargo pants) to justifiable ridicule.

Cyril thought creating a factory with a bunch of if/else statements based on type was a great idea, while the rest of the team just used Ninject, laughing at it his use of Cargo Code. And he did it in cargo pants. Nerd.
