A word used so much in the Nigerian presidential campaign back in 2015, that it no longer holds much value.
The government promised change, but after the elections, they changed their promise!

Something many people seem to confuse with progress. Not all change is a good thing.
Getting taken back to the Stone Age wouldn't be progress and it wouldn't improve race relations, but it would be a change in direction, and some people love any change as long as it's change. They don't want a slow, steady, and natural progress made, they want a change now when they want it, and if they don't get it they'll walk over anybody they can (anybody they think is the weak one) to try and get their way, to get others to say yes to them instead of no.
Whether it's forced on people or not, there will always be a natural resistance, equal and opposite.
As the expression goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
