I am Legacy; therefore, entitled.

A phrase used by a Legacy player of Final Fantasy XIV (14). When a player utters this phrase, it means that he/she:

1) Is a user with a service account that had paid for at least 90 cumulative days of subscriptions between January 6, 2012 and November 1, 2012. They hold special privileges such as a discounted subscription price post-launch of version 2.0, exclusive in-game Chocobo mount, and their name is to be displayed in the credits for version 2.0.

2) Feels that because of their participation in the infancy stage (1.0) of Final Fantasy XIV, their voice deserves to be heard over any other potential players when communicating via Official FFXIV Forums.

3) Feels that because of their participation in the infancy stage (1.0) of Final Fantasy XIV, their every gaming related want and need must be indulged for the sake of the future enjoyment of all true Final Fantasy XIV fans and players.

4) Has a deep, resonating sense of entitlement that is fully justifiable because they are a Final Fantasy XIV "Legacy" member. Some of the Legacy community feel an even stronger sense of entitlement if they have played the game and/or have had an active account since the start of the game in 2010. The ultimate entitlement is felt by members of the community that participated in the alpha/beta phase of 1.0, played the game since 1.0 launch, and was there to witness the end of 1.0.

Example #1:
FFXIV Player 1: The grass isn't realistic enough in 2.0
FFXIV Player 2: It's fine. What are you expecting?
FFXIV Player 1: Perfection.
FFXIV Player 2: Nothing is can be "perfect" man..
FFXIV Player 1: But I am Legacy; therefore, entitled.

Example #2 (very realistic example from FFXIV forums):
Hi...Rokien here. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I know I am (hanging out with the GF). Today, I'd like to talk about immersion. ARR needs more of it. Because I am Legacy; therefore, entitled.

I am way past facing reality!

β€œI am way past facing reality!” Is a statement of clarity beyond clarity. This statement is a counter slap to someone who thinks that they are trying to alert you to the reality of a situation. It’s another way of saying: β€œOh, allow me to retort, MOTHERFUCKER!”.

Lover #1 You have to face reality, our relationship is in trouble and we need to talk.

Lover #2 I am way past facing reality! OUR RELATIONSHIP IS OVER!!!!!

I am fishing for your Goombas

Slang among political ops for "I am looking for dirt on your candidate." May or may not be connected to the classic line from The Godfather: "Clemenza sleeps with the fish." Meaning he's been whacked, per orders. So "Fishing for your Goombas," maybe, started out meaning "looking for the bodies in your candidate's background." (Classically such bodies would be a live boy or a dead girl).

"Hey, what's this bullshit with a guy with a camera in the parking lot at four in the morning?"

"I am fishing for your Goombas, asshole. If your boy can't keep it zipped, the people got a right to know."

I know you are but what am I

I was a kid in the 60's.. This phrase was not used by older sophisticated persons.. It was simply a juvenile response to juvenile name calling.. Some dumb kid would say: "You're Stupid" the simple and quick response would be "I know you are but what am I".. Sometimes (probably when first used) a good come back to one who was truly stupid, because it confounds them, confuses them.. "Uh uh uh, um, you're stupid?"

In actuallity, the phrase would go back and forth, several times.. "You're stupid", "I know you are but what am I" "You're dumb", "I know you are but what am I".. "What a jerk", "I know you are but what am I", "Jerk", "I know you are but what am I"...

Just a juvenile thing.. Used so often though (way back when) that til this day, I use the phrase in response to good compliments.. Most people my age, or close too, enjoy and laugh :)

Example: "You're cute" my response "I know you are but what am I" :)
