Stupid fuckers that cut themselves and listen to shit music. Usually they cut themselves because they have "problems", like "my boy/girlfriend broke up with me", or "i cant go to the *generic emo-band* concert because i need to go to my grandmothers funeral!" and shit like that. EMO CUTTERS DONT HAVE ANY REAL PROBLEMS!! People with real problems dont resort to cutting, they know how do deal with it, or at least know to get help. Emo kids just mope and whine all day and have to be bisexual and wear girl pants because i guess having balls is too much extra weight for them to carry along with the rest of their crappy lives.
emo kid: "Hey i have an idea, how about since i cant express my "pain" by going to a therapist, ill just take this rusty knife and cut myself to help me forget about my fake sadness. Im sure that id rather die of blood loss than face my "problems" and end up living a happy life."

Usually jealous teens who cut themselves and complain about how shitty their life is, when really, all they want is attention. People who cant fit in with the outgoing kids and despise preps. Most of them have fun by getting high or drunk because they dont know how to do anything else with their lives. These kids usually cloth themselves in black and ripped up skinny jeans and cake there eyes with black liner. Do not ever befriend an emo for they will do nothing but bring down your mood and drag you with them through their shitty lives.

A style of music relating to mostly underground bands, or music not popular to the self proclaimed 'in crowd'. Common listeners follow trends set by the lead singers of these bands, including skinny jeans, horn-rimmed glasses and band t-shirts. Incredibly false accusations of the term 'emo' include the opinions that people who listen to this style of music have mental disorders such as depression or bipolar depression, and that most all of them SI, or self injure, meaning they cut themselves.
Bands who produce 'emo' music include Fall Out Boy, Flyleaf, Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon and several other bands listed under the categories of 'screamo' or 'punk'. People often think the teens who listen to this music mimick the lyrics to the songs, which created the steryotyp that anyone wearing skinny jeans, horn rimmed glasses, black skin tight tops or have the 'emo hairstyle' (layered and teased, mulitcolored) go along are instantly emo.

While little known, 'emo' is short for emotional. One can be emo, while portraying /any/ emotion, though the word is usually not used to represent any other emotion than sadness; agony; mental pain.
This word generally comes with a negative connotation, especially when someone is labeled it by outstanding parties, rather than claiming it for his or her self.
A harsh definition of an emo person is someone who cuts his or her body, out of desperation. While people do this on occasion, most of them are likely only looking for attention in the form of scars marking up their bodies. A truly emo person would not want anyone to know about his or her negative thoughts.
One who claims to be emo likely listens to music that portrays these dark emotions through its lyrics and sometimes instrumentation.
'Emo' can also be used to describe this type of music. An example of an emo, or emo-influenced, band is Hawthorne Heights.

Carter: Brad, how did you get those scars?! Is someone hurting you?!
Brad: My only enemy is myself...I-I'm emo, Carter.
Example 2.
Casey: Quit your crying, you little emo baby.
