Wavin' Flag

A powerful and moving song - easily the greatest produced by K'naan.

When I get older I will be stronger. They'll call me freedom
just like a Wavin' flag

Six Flagged

v. To completely rip off consumers through massively inflated prices for food and drinks. Commonly used in the past tense.

I don't mind paying two bucks for a bottle of water at Disney because I don't feel like I'm being six flagged.

the flag game

A game played by exchange students. You receive 1 point per nationality that you kiss someone from. Each nationality is called a "flag". The game lasts for the period of your exchange program.

Some variants of the game give you bonus points for your host country (especially for conservative countries) and less or no points for your own country, reflecting their relative difficulty.

Max: *making out with a girl in the corner*
Me: Damn! Max is winning the flag game again.

Trump flag

Trump flag
A display of bigotry, especially racism or misogyny, often justified by irrational adherence to lies that have been repeatedly disproven.

He really let his Trump flag fly with that bullshit about immigrants taking our jobs.

flag on the moon

A colloqualism that has the same effect as the phrase 'what the fuck' (abbr. wtf?!) i.e. denoting incredulity.
This phrase first appeared in the 1961 D film 'The Beast of Yucca Flats',due to the director actually misplacing the soundtrack of the movie, and it has since been a mystery why or what it had to do with the movie plot.

"My best friend was a crafty butcher..."
"Flag on the moon, mate?!"

Death flag

A death-flag is an action or phrase that offers the possibility of a characters death in a TV-show, movie, book, or even anime. If you see any of these death-flags below, your favorite character might just die.

1. Finally opening up to his/her crush right before going into a dangerous situation, like a war/battle
1a. Crush graciously accepts said confession, and talks about life

2. Character's family, preferably wife and kids, are unnecessarily given background information
2a. Character's family must be loving without any family problems

3. Hearing a creek or a sound coming from a nearby room
3a. Said room must have the lights off with the door partially open, as the character slowly approaches it.

4. Talk about his/her future and what he wants to be in life, right before a dangerous battle or war

5. Being a mentor of the adventurous Main Character

6. Subtle indications that Character is sick, but not open about it

7. Realizing/discovering a mystery that should not be uncovered
7a. Character tries to contact someone to let them know of the discovery fast, then meets stranger

8. Once scared character decides to be brave for once
8a. Character bites more than he can chew

9. Excessive coughing of blood during battle
9a. Not dead yet, but prey is nearby to finish the job

This character is giving off a Death flag. I wonder how long it will take for him to die.

show the flag

Show up at a party or event just so people will see you and think you actually care about what's happening.

Probably from the days of gunboat diplomacy when warships would appear in foreign harbors to show that Great Britain, or some other colonial overlord, had a vested interest in the place.

I didn't really want to go to my cousin Noreen's birthday party, but I decided to show the flag and put in an appearance.
