A furry is someone who thinks anthropomorphic animals are cool. Meaning animals that walk on two legs like we do and dress in normal clothing. Note that just because you like wearing a fursuit doesn't make you a furry. Being a furry means this is who you want to be and who you are. It's means doing furry art, charity, going to conventions, and just doing it for fun!

Basically, "furry" is the name of the fandom around anthropomorphic animals. Just as fans of Doctor Who are called Whovians, it's just a name for a group of people.

A person who is fascinated with anthropomorphic animals. Basic definition set aside, they're an Internet subculture who the majority are perverted geeks & are common targets of Something Awful. Quite possibly the strangest thing to originate from the Internet.
Furries who defend themselves on UrbanDictionary don't realize that it won't change jack shit about what people think of them.
