Popsicle Punk

A "watered down and sweetend" version of punk. Usualy popsicle punks wear bright colours.

Avril Lavigne is a popsicle punk, due to her sweetened version of punk and overuse of the colour hot pink.

pop-punk

not to be cofused with pop rock with a punk influance, blink 182, good charlotte ect. pop-punk is simply punk rock with more of a melodic pop sound, like bad religion or the bouncing souls

bad religion are the grand-dads of pop-punk

punk rock

a genre of music that has just become a joke. 99.99999% of all people on the world are punks, so that means allmost everyone is into punk rock music- 1994 greenday brings punk rock back into the mainstream culture. Some years later blink 182 makes all the small things video which makes punk music like pop music- year 2000 onward avril lavigne eventually cashes in on skater culture with skater boi she then gets all girls into punk rock. It is not uncommon for girls now to listen to punk. 2005 and onward- I believe punk has hit an apex where the fundamentals are distorted by the foundations of the establishment, I also believe that punk will flop if its exceeded over what is now.

"Burying Your Past"

you used to shine like a diamond all the time
but now you forgot all your dreams forgot the times
that you had gravel in your knees and i raised you back to your feet
and now you're watered down there's nothing left burning inside
so many times i fell on my face and you lifted my spirits back to place
i hope the pieces are all around the puzzle of you burying your past
and if that perfect smile isn't the perfect lie you're faking again
wake in the morning bleeding from my back and dying
because you neglect your heart i have so many emotions,
passions burning in my heart.

pop-punk

Contrary to popular belief, pop-punk is not neccesarily shit like Good Charlotte. It is actually a more medolic punk. Think The Descendants, Bouncing Souls, Screeching Weasels, yes, even The Ramones.

Although, someone using the word is probabbly referring to shit bands like Good Charlotte, Newfoundglory and Brand New.

*Also not to be confused with the similiar yet SLIGHTLY less bad "skate-punk" (nofx, goldfinger, rancid)

Dude 1: "Hey man, have you heard the new Descendants? It's fuckin' sweet!"

Punk Rock

A genre of music that has hard, fast, and rough music and lyrics that attack the popular culture and government. Very anti-establishment. Famous true punk bands are The Clash, Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Black Flag, and The Buzzcocks. Newer punk bands, most famous Green Day and Bowling for Soup, have a lighter tone, but is still considered punk over other music.

Pop-punk is a genre that combines the same types of lyrics and combines it with softer and lighter music. Blink-182, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, and Sum 41 are this genres pioneers and famous bands.

Generally, punk rock is one of the biggest categories of rock music but has never been fully considered mainstream since its creation in the 70s in the U.S. and England. 924 Gilman Street in the East Bay is a famous club where many underground bands play.

The Clash is a famous punk rock band. currently, the most famous punk band is probably Green Day.

pop-punk

Not considered to be Punk music. Punk died, but lives on in music that claims only to be rock β€˜n’ roll plain and simple and straight from the garage. Punk exists now only in spirit and is not something you can purchase at Hot Topic.

Among Christian lore there is supposed to be a Christ, and then in various sects of Christianity there is the Anti-Christ. Well in this case…

Punk = Christ
Pop-Punk = Anti-Christ

Oh, and Rancid is not Punk just because Tim Armstrong had a Mohawk.

I blame the Descendants for the lame format later to be established as the current template for pop-punk artists’ success.

Invented by Courtney Conformity. The bright version of the punk stereotype. Like scene, but brighter and more hardcore. Basically punk dunked in glow sticks and fluro paint. Used to contradict stereotypists.

very bright tights.
Very bright fingernails and eye shadow.
Fluro paint splotches and patches.
Rainbow dyed hair.
Fluro peircing jewellery.

Example 1:
Wemo kid 1: "I like your style, where do you get all your bright emo things?"
CourtneyxConformity: "Uh, its not emo. Its neon punk."
Wemo kid 2: "Omg cool, I wanna be neon punk too."

Example 2:
Scene kid 1: "Wow those tights are so fluro and scene."
Neon punk: "They're not scene they're neon punk, you idiot."
