I'm sick of people saying ALL Emo's are fake I don't think I am. An emo is somone who is supposed to be unique but unfortunately lots of supposed 'Emo's' totally f**ked that up the whole point of Emo is to be different not the same!!!

An emo is someone that is very EMOtional,Also might be depressed or suicidal but not all of them, their are many stereotypes on Emos aswell that are not always true , it is also a fashion style and music genre.
Not all Emos cut themselves and they are not satanic weirdos as many people stereotype them to be.

What people think it is: self harm, depression and everything is black

What it actually is: spinning around to your favorite song from My Chemical Romance, Green Day, or Taking Back Sunday till you fall over exhausted and ponder what you're doing with your life. You wear mostly dark colours, (not necessarily black), listen to emo, screamo, or punk bands. You don't have to cut either. If an emo does, that's for a completely different reason (unless they are a fake wannabe emo). They are like everyone else but they like their music to have meaning and they pay attention the darker sides of things, not just the ideal sides.

Yes, I'm an emo, but that doesn't make me any different than the next person. Maybe just a little bit darker.

More a lifestyle than a label. People who are usually depressed who can find no other way to deal with emotional pain than to cut. They cute their wrists, stomach, legs, anywhere they can reach sometimes. Emo's and Scene kids are confused often, having the same fashion sense, but Scene kids dont cut.
