The community created its own phrases and abbreviations, such as "Meowdy," "Clawless," and "KB" (short for Kitty Bastards), which are all commonly used by its members.
The official symbol of the community is a red background with the black silhouette of a sitting cat's upper body, though similar variations are sometimes used.
Kitty Bastards is also occasionally referred to as Kitty Palace.
