The act of cutting off a buffalo's head and covering yourself in it's blood while gooning under the moon.
I'm going moon gooning with the Natives tonight!
A spiritual ritual where an individual will consume Peyote, cover themselves in elk or buffalo blood, and proceed to goon in the moonlight while wearing an elk, buffalo or moose skull, with the goal of achieving spiritual enlightenment and to convene with the spirits.
I am 10 hours into a Moon Gooning session and I don't know where the fuck I am.

Originated from the natives, Moon Gooning is a "positive vibe only" ritual done under the moonlight while gooning around a burning stump. The usual attire consists of: a fitted skirt, an elk’s skull as a headdress and the person must be drenched only by a licensed Elk’s blood.
(Avoid having an unlicensed buffalo in your vehicle for it might ruin the whole ritual. If unfortunate enough, please carry a bottle of Elk's blood to throw at the eyes of the nearest police officer.)

When you go into the woods with a bunch of Natives at midnight and goon everywhere with buffalo skulls and elk blood.

Jack: "Yeah, Eagle Eye of the Navajo brought me into the woods and we did a shit ton of Peyote."
