A term used to describe the driving style of someone who enjoys driving slowly, referring to the preferred MPH of the driver. The typical position of someone who's "keeping it 5" is elbow out the window, seat leaning back, and speakers blasting hip-hop. The most essential part involves the driving speed -- the slower, the better. Oftentimes, keeping it 5 will annoy other drivers, but those who truly keep it 5 will not let this affect their style.

Passenger: Hey come on man let's hurry up we gotta get there before the game starts

Driver: Chill we'll get there when we get there...I'm just tryna keep it 5

To play it cool or smooth in a tight situation. Origin: Kosher, Kosh is short for kosher.

Dude #1: Dude, isn't that Kristen coming this way?
Dude #2: Yeah dude, she's smoking hot. What I wouldn't do to get with her.

To behave in a civilised manner, to act with civility. When one is not currently keeping it "real", the best you can hope is that they keep it "civil".

This is also a good way of pissing off people who you don't like.

This can be used as a derogatory term.

Expression used to denote ones depressive, apathetic attitude toward their work. Usually, it expresses your inability to change anything and your inevitable departure from said job.

Example 1:

Guy 1: "Did you get the memo? I guess they're taking money back because they overpaid us $600 for per diem on that business trip last week."

Guy 2: "They can keep it. In fact, they should take more of my money. Who needs college tuition? Not my kids."

Example 2:

Guy 1: "You hear, man, we have to stay late again because the boss can't get her shit strait."

Guy 2: "She can keep it. In fact, she should take more of my nights. I don't mind missing my sons' birthday."

Guy 1: "It's hers. She can have it."
