Strip malls most commonly seen in the format of:
-A Starbucks or other coffee shop. almost ALWAYS a starbucks.
-Noodles & Co.
-Qdoba or Chipotle. interchangeable.
-sometimes a random cell phone provider shop can be thrown in, or anything else that provides a service to the general yuppie. Einstein Bagel Bros. is also an option.
To be a yuppie compound, it must contain at least three of these requirements. otherwise it's just a normal hipster magnet.
Example 1>
person 1:"Hey dude, I could really go for some coffee and a bagel...you down?"
person 2:"Fuck that pansy shit. I want a huge ass burrito from Qdoba!"
person 3:"you do realize that qdoba's right next to starbucks, and overpriced accordingly?"
person 2:"fuck...let me grab my macbook then. let's go."
Example 2>
"Holy shit Greg, guess what? They're putting a Qdoba in that strip mall over by the AT&T store and Starbucks...Yuppie Compound complete!"

Whining that escapes from the mouths of yuppies that is so absurd that it makes regular people cringe.
I feel really bad; I launched into a fit of yuppie whining today in front of my secretary. She totally doesn't care if the satellite radio in my BMW isn't working and I am stuck listening to FM.
Television shows or glossy magazines featuring real estate, automobiles, gadgets, boats or furniture of the type preferred by the stereotypical yuppie, even if they are not written or shot with the intention of selling the actual products. A derogatory spin on the stereotype that yuppies receive the same stimulation from material objects that non-yuppies do from sex. Yuppie porno or yuppie pornography can be used.

1.)A term used to describe a town or city that has been taken over and occupied by the Young upcoming professionals, or "yuppies". Usually, a Yuppie Town can be identified by the high number of coffee houses per capita and how many times people jaywalk in front of you and don't seem to give a damn while driving around
10 years ago, low income housing dominated this stretch of downtown. Now this Yuppie Town is full of cozy coffee houses and import cars.
