Something that is relatively new but low quality and is falling apart. Derived from recent Volvos (starting around 2012) that had low quality interior parts that would peel and fall apart, especially the soft-touch black plastic which would peel after just a couple years. This term can be used to describe anything that is in poor condition, not just a car.
Wow, this desk from ikea sure is junk, it's doing the Volvo peel already and it's just a few years old.

Used to be a very safe and reliable car. Then, Volvo Passenger Vehicles we’re split from Volvo Heavy Machinery, sold to Ford, and then Ford flipped them to the CCP. Now both Volvo PV and Volvo HM are total shit. Stay away from them!

Volvo: (pronounced VooVoo) a small sedan vehicle in which the frame is made of iron and is able to compete with a tank in body durability, typically weights a little less than a 2021 Ford ranger, has an engine bigger than a 2021 Ford ranger that should be used for small SUVs and minivan's, and typically looks like something your grandma would drive
