Alpha Phi Alpha

Alpha Phi Alpha is the first intercollegiate fraternity established by African Americans. Founded on December 4, 1906, on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, as a social fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha has initiated over 175,000 men into the organization and has been open to men of all races since 1945. The fraternity utilizes motifs and artifacts from Ancient Egypt to represent the organization and preserves its archives at the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center.

The founders, Henry Callis, Charles Chapman, Eugene Jones, George Kelley, Nathaniel Murray, Robert Ogle, and Vertner Tandy, are collectively known as the "Seven Jewels". The fraternity expanded when a second chapter was chartered at Howard University in 1907. Beginning in 1908, Alpha Phi Alpha became the prototype for other Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLO). Today, there are over 680 active Alpha chapters in the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, the West Indies, and the Virgin Islands.

Alpha Phi Alpha evolved into a primarily service organization and has provided leadership and service during the Great Depression, World Wars, Civil Rights Movements, and addresses social issues such as apartheid, AIDS, urban housing, and other economic, cultural, and political issues affecting people of color. The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial is a project of Alpha Phi Alpha and the fraternity jointly leads philanthropic programming initiatives with March of Dimes, Head Start, Boy Scouts of America and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Members of Alpha Phi Alpha include Jamaican Prime Minister and Rhodes Scholar Norman Manley, Nobel Prize winner Martin Luther King, Jr., U.S. Vice President Hubert Humphrey, Olympian Jesse Owens, Justice Thurgood Marshall, United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young, and Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson. Numerous other American leaders are among the men who have adopted the fraternityโ€™s principlesโ€”manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind.

Phi Beta Rage

1. A group of friends made up individuals who all admit to being lonely, angry, dissatisfied people filled with angst.

2. Unhappy, sarcastic assholes that tend to hang out with each other.

I don't have the energy to entertain Rita and her downer friends. It's like hanging out with Phi Beta Rage.

Zeta Phi Beta

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. by five coeds. These women dared to depart from the traditional coalitions for Black women and sought to establish a new organization predicated on the precepts of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. The trail blazed by the founders has been traversed by thousands of women dedicated to the emulation of the objectives and ideals of the Sorority.

The Sorority was the, first Greek-letter organization to charter a chapter in Africa (1948); to form adult and youth auxiliary groups, the Amicae, Archonettes, Amicettes, and Pearlettes; and to be constitutionally bound to a brother group, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.

Zeta's national and local programs include endowment of its National Educational Foundation; community outreach services; and support of multiple affiliate organizations. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 16, 1920 by five illustrious women. Assisting our founders in establishing a well rounded, self sustaining, and innovative organization were two Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.: A. Langston Taylor and Charles Robert Taylor.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded on the ideals of scholarship, sisterly love, community service and finer womanhood. With these ideals under our wings, Zeta has set a tradition of "firsts". Theta Phi Alpha

Theta Phis are the most real girls in any sorority. They are sweet, kind, caring, and crazy intelligent. They are leaders in on and off the campus representing true Greek Life. Not only are the all around bad-asses but they are the most crazy fun sorority girls you will ever meet. They are the beautiful girls you take home to mom and then they out drink your dad under the table, because they already out drank every fraternity. Never sober, always true are the theta phis, known for holding their liquor with class. The penguin best represents them because they travel in packs, mate for life, and are always dressed for a party. Do not try and mess with a theta phi girl because if you mess with one you mess with the entire sorority. There sisterhood is the strongest, truest, and proudest of the greek tree. They would never bad mouth their sisters and are always there by there side. Every loyal, ever lasting are the Theta Phi Alpha girls.

Dude1: Wow, you would be a perfect Theta Phi Alpha. You are smart, beautiful, sweet, outgoing, and crazy fun!
PNM: Thanks! Its only the dream to belong to the best sorority on campus.
