These people are usually well accepted by society but don't realize society is a man made way of getting along with each other that has been taken waaay too far. Most of these people thrive because of society and not themselves but people have a tendency to give in to keep society going for their own comfort.

People would rather be around a person who makes them comfortable and numb(popular) than one who is realistic and truly aware of the big picture.

One who is generally well liked by many. This term is most commonly used in reference to a particular clique. 'Populars' are generally described in the media as being heartless, pretty, well-dressed, atheletic, stupid whores. Many 'populars'in schools seem to follow this stereotype, while few act like decent human beings.'un-populars' dream that the 'populars' will grow up to live on minimum wage, and lead awful lives. However, many populars are charismatic, a trait that will lead them to sturdy future. Overall what type of 'popular' a person is depends on the individual, though most are masked by the stereotypes of the media.

Stereotypical popular girl: OH MY GAWD DID YOU SEE WHAT JENNY WAS WEARING!?!?!

a person is popular when they think everyone likes them, when in fact nobody likes them, they just hang around them to get attention or to look good. a popular person will ignore anyone who is different from them, but if they want something they will suck up to the person who has whatever they want then after they have it they will ignore the other person. also a the guy or gurl which thinks everyone is in love with them even if they dont come to realise that thoses people hate their fuking guts!

popular person: o i hate that chick over there,
-5 minutes later-,
popular person: o i think i need sum money to buy miself something,
*walks over to 'chick over there',
popular person: hey can i have some money please?,
chick: fuk off!,

The group of people in your school that everyone praises and kiss their rear ends. The people that end up being the biggest losers on Earth. ( you know which popular group I'm talking about).They end flipping burgers for the geeks they used to mock on their high school days.

Yeah, popular is also something well known in a negative or a positive way. It's something hip and famous for a while, that's why they are not a classic. :)

1) Here's an example of being popular:
Jock: dude, look at me I'm dating the hottest chicks on school. Hey get out of my way you geek.
Cheerleader: Yea, lyke totally get out of ma way biatch, you big losa. I wanna hang out with ma fine hunk (kisses the boy and makes fun of the geeks, goths, etc.)
12 years later.....
Former Geek: Hey, what are u doing here? Man, You have gotten fat and ugly. And please flip those burgers faster I'm not paying you to be a slacker.

2) Good Charlotte, Rap music is a good example of this.

The person doesn't have to be bitchy or spoiled or rich and gorgeous and the typical stereotype of the blonde cheerleader type. Someone popular is a person has friends and can hang out with any clique and be excepted. She can be prep and have friends who are nerds or skaters or punks. People like her and even if they don't like her, they respect her because she's cool and doesn't backstab or talk shit about people.

Any girl who is intimidating or manipualtive or bitchy is not popular. She just scares people into liking her. If she were normal, she wouldn't be popular. If the girl is pretty and rich, girls hang around her to get guys she doesn't want and to get stuff from her.
