corporate stiff

A career man or woman, a member or the rat race, someone whose life and personality are defined by work. Their temperament is the same at all times, and they are unable to turn their serious nature off and relax, hence the term 'stiff'.

Alex is sacrificing his life working ridiculous hours just to earn his obscene bonus every year, so that he can be wealthy in old age. But by age 40 he had become a corporate stiff, forever changed by years of drudgery that have made him unemotional and boring.

corporate monkey

Monkey's climb trees...Corporate, as in manager wanabe, professionals climb ladders. Both eager to get to the top 'cause that's where the biggest rewards are. you can kiss ass, back stab, dress well, what ever the environment requires to get to the reward. Monkey's are primal...with a tendancy to have eratic behavior. Coporate Monkey's are constantly dissatisfied with there current career level always looking for satisfaction, usually by way of more management power, but money is a close second and is usually a motivating driver.

When your boss knows you are interested in management, and more money, he will offer you projects that are demanding and require more effort, usually hours too, than you usually contribute. He will tease you will how significant it is for the company and lead to REALLY good opportunities is you are successful and possibly a promotion. But the caveat is that you must prove your value to the company by busting your ass, jumping through hoops, kissing ass and HOPING for that little nugget of gratitude from your boss and the company that will someday make you king of the hill. You Sir are a corporate monkey.

Corporate Rock

Corporate rock is rock music that fails critically but succeeds commerically. Corporate rock is typically appropriate for all listeners, lacks creativity or invention, and establishes broad appeal as a result of heavy marketing and media saturation.

corporate radio

Most of the stations you hear everyday (the exception usually being small indie stations, college stations, some classical, folk, and jazz stations, and some Spanish stations which are sometimes illegal and/or unauthorized).
They aren't too bad, but they always play the SAME songs every single day despite claiming to have "today's hottest music" or "the best new music" or something like that. When you hear a good song on there, it's probably a sign that the song is getting old. They also play a lot of good songs to death. This is not usually the DJs' fault, because they are only allowed to play certain songs on a corporate playlist provided by their parent company. (the biggest parent company is Clearchannel).
Despite this, many have good morning shows with funny hosts to make up for the fact that they can only play certain songs.

Some of these stations are oldies, country, alternative, Spanish, or 70s and 80s oriented, but they still play a lot of the same songs all the time.
It would be nice if all the "mix" stations out there would actually have a bit more variety and play stuff by lesser known or popular underground artists.

Ex. I was listening to the radio today and it seems like all they played was Lifehouse, Gwen Stefani, the Goo-Goo Dolls, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Holiday", some mid-90's stuff, and John Mayer. So much for "variety".
