An overused word. People use it to describe shit that isn't awesome and never was. A word Eric Cartman from Southpark told himself he was when he found out nobody else really liked or respected him or his authoritie (or his bank account). He also made his stuffed animals tell him he was awesome, and that he was not a joke (though he would tell everyone he didn't care what they thought of him, he was such a narcissist that he would say fuck all of them if they didn't obey or respect his authoritie, or if they said no to him).
There was never anything awesome about Cartman from Southpark. If there were any likeable cartoon characters from Southpark, they were Terrence and Philip.

The origin of "awesome" was "something that inspires awe". Today the word has evolved to common slang. The original meaning has become somewhat forgotten; the idea of something being awe-inspiring is now shortened to it just being "awesome".
ie: He had the awesome idea of getting the family together for a much needed road trip.
ie: The Grand Canyon is an awesome sight!
ie: This song is awesome, I am buying it today.
a word that is over used. People use it to describe dumb things. Not often lived up to epic proportions

Sunder_storm, or Sunder for short. Seeing as there is no visual dictionary. Sunder_storm is the definition of awesome and has the final say on who is or isn't awesome and their appropriate level of awesomeness or lack thereof.
