Woke is kinda like lit but with added consciousness. Where lit is more like turnt up and being crazy, woke is like being sharp, keenly aware of your surroundings and what's really going on in life, i.e who's fake and who's real and dealing with the real stuff in life.

"deal with the real man, stay woke."
"bruh, I ain't got time for these two-faced fake friends, I'm too woke for that."

Woke

Used primarily to mean being aware of issues in a community (real or imagined). Frequently seen in conspiracy and political communities in reference to things perceived as less than obvious or 'under the surface'.

Also used (usually by conservative sources) to refer to undefined subsets of what is viewed as 'progressive idealogy' by the speaker.

Person 1: "It's fucked up how people think the earth is round still.."
Person 2: "What?"
Person 1: "Oh, right. I forgot that not everyone is Woke to the hexagonal earth."

Person 1: "Yeah, that new comic had a bunch of non-binary characters just kind of forced in."
Person 2: "Wow, everything has to be woke nowadays."

Now exclusively used as a pejorative by blustering right-wing gimps when their tiny brains can’t process that the world changes and progresses.

a small southern town, with about 62,000 inhabitants, is actually not as shit as the 2nd description.
cinema, pool in the park, 25 min train journey to LDN, supermarkets, shopping centre, theatre, colleges and schools are some of the greaaaat attractions.
yess, populated by a lot of chavs, but there are other subcultures within this town.

Today there is a new definition of "woke". You might have woke your dog up when you opened that bag of chips, but he is not "woke" as it applies today. To be "woke" means you're now informed of things you did not know. You are not "in the dark" about other societies and cultures whose past has been edited and censored to make you think it wasn't as bad as it actually was.

You might consider yourself to be woke, but you could probably still learn a thing or two.
