The Lawrence Paradox

When you ask your friend to make a choice between 2 things that make no difference to you or your group and they say “I don’t mind” or “I don’t care, you choose”. This results in an argument trying to make them choose before someone eventually gets pissed off enough to make the choice for them.

Joe: “ Hey Liam do you want to play out wide or in the centre on pro clubs tonight?”
Liam: “I don’t care, I’ll play wherever after everyone else has chosen.”
Danny: “Oh shit you shouldn’t have asked him that, you’ve now entered ‘The Lawrence Paradox’.”

BCS paradox

In NCAA Division I football (FBS), the "BCS paradox" occurs when a conference simultaneously wins and loses the BCS National Championship game. Despite not winning the conference division and playing one less game while the other team competes for the conference championship, the 2nd-in-division team still competes for the MNC (Mythical National Champion) title.

The resulting game is 100% guaranteed to top any previous games labeled as "The Game of the Century", and ensures that the record of "Most Viewers Falling Asleep" will be shattered.

Note that the "BCS paradox" only applies to the $EC, because no other conference can bring in the same amount of money...er, produce the two greatest teams in the nation.

Despite losing the snoozefest against LSU in the regular season, Alabama's week of rest (while LSU was battling Georgia for the conference title) paid off as the Crimson Tide beat the Tigers in the most boring game in the history of football. The fact that the SEC both won and lost the BCS National Championship resulted in the first-ever "BCS paradox".

Pi Paradox

When promiscuously extrapolating or generalizing a math formula, or misusing an infinity concept, in some step of a mathematical proof leads to a contradictory or nonsensical result about the number pi, such as π = 2 or π = 666.

Poking fun at prideful or pseudo-geeky math students to explain a pi paradox is a subtle way to humble their egos in exposing their oft-half-baked understanding of mathematical concepts.

Time Paradox

1: When the very flow of time colapses upon in itself due to a temporal incursion or "Time Travel" Noteworthy people who have gone backward in time would be...Well, that guy in Timecop....Shut up.
Anyhoo, don't go back in time, because you'll only crush a mosquito and destroy Berlin.

For more information on time paradoxes, Play TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. or watch a ST: Voyager episodes when it goes back in time...They have it down.

"What the hell, you're me!"
"Yeah, I knew you'd say that. Take this key, it's for that door. You won't make it through without it."
"If you couldn't make it through, who gave it to you?"
"I did"
"What?!"
"Just shut up, I gotta go and save us from a big snake"

Time Paradox

A gimmick that is quite popular amongst Metal Gear fans because the "Mission Failed" logo is actually "Time Paradox". In reality though, a time paradox is a contradiction of time. For example, take Metal Gear Solid 3's background. It's set in 1964. The main character's death, according to the storyline, would mean World War III. Thus, if he is killed, reality as we know it would suffer a time paradox because he wasn't supposed to die, and his death would mean the end of the world.....of course, we're still alive today.

Aw hell who am I kidding. This whole flow of time thing really confizzles me.

"Keep in mind though, it's just a game...^_^..."

Rupert's Paradox

You find yourself in a situation in which you must have sexual intercourse with two females separately. The catch is that their collective age must equal 20 years. Thus, if one was 12 years old, the other must be 8 years old. If one was 19 years old, the other must be 1 year old, and so on. What do you do?

Rupert's Paradox has baffled the minds of scholars for years.

"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by how they respond to Rupert's Paradox."

The Jerry Paradox

Describes a person as incredibly smart and incredibly stupid at the same time

I hear Jerry is close to finishing his second master’s degree but because of the Jerry Paradox his elementary school math is wrong so everyone got fucked on their paycheck.
