A crap style of music where more often than not the only thing worthwhile about it is the guitar playing.
A bunch of ass clowns in assless leather pants singing about their gayness and proffessing their love for the hershey highway.Typically a bunch of stupid ass lyrics and attrocious vocals and a fetish for goats.
Since guitar playing is usually the only thing worth a fuck in most metal then I choose to listen to intrumental rock guitar artists instead such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai or Steve Morse or Eric Johnson or Gary Hoey or Firkins or Greg Howe or Vinnie Moore.That way I get all the great guitar without having to suffer through the most hideou vocals ever conceived of and the stupidest lyrics ever written sang by some cow-dependent satanic leather-clad tattooed and pierced little L.A. homos with 666 tattooed between their eyes as they masturbate onstage to the image of their goat god (teh devil).All of this crap in metal is pointless bullshit designed to sell image not make good music.All this serves to do is to make a bunch of little fags on the internet use 666 in their screennames and have pentagrams for avatars.

A stiff style of music with no "feel" to it.
Heavy Metal is just another crappy sub-genre which idiots cling to in an attempt to belong to some social group or clique.It's no different than the so-called "punk lifestyle" or people trying to be "indie" or goth or emo or whatever.They all claim to be non-conformists and then conform to some stupid little social group or clique or whatever.Fuckin posers.Music is music and you should listen to whatever music that's good regardless of how it's labeled.

The Nu Metal label is slapped onto almost every band that was created after the late '90's or any metal band that becomes mainstream.
Many people say nu metal isn't real metal and that it's shit. Well guess what? By many people's definition, Metallica is nu metal. They're probably the most heard of and mainstream metal band in the world. I'm pretty sure Metallica isn't shit, both metal heads and nu metal fans can agree on that. Metallica is one of the best metal bands.
A lot of nu metal is good. Just because something is mainstream means it's bad. Get over yourselves.
Slipknot, KORN, Disturbed, etc. are all considered "nu metal"
By many people's definitions, Metallica is nu metal. And since many people are saying nu metal sucks, they're saying Metallica sucks, which they certainly do not.

Metal that despite how good it can be, is often listened too and defended by pretentious people. Often "prog metal" as its known, is said to me metal for "intelligent people who have good taste". This is not to say that prog metal can not be good, it often is. However it is not always as heavy as other forms of metal, such as Thrash Metal or Heavy Metal.

That Metal Show is a TV show shown on Vh1 Classic (Vh1's 80's obsessed Uncle) where the three hosts (Eddie Trunk, Jim Florentine, and Don Jamieson) take metal music WAY too seriously, if they even talk about metal. They constantly obsess over crappy Hair Metal bands that nobody could care less about. They do have good guests, like Rob Halford, but will count them out by bringing in a crappy guest to join them. The three hosts think that metal is reserved for people who act like assholes, and will ridicule anyone who doesn't. They also make fun of fans of bands such as Fall Out Boy.

Eddie Trunk: So I was in the Supermarket one day, and I hit this guy with my shopping cart. This guy turns to me, and I can see he's wearing a Slayer shirt. He tells me "Dude, watch where you're heading." So I say to him "Why don't you shut up, take off that Slayer shirt, and go put on that Fall Out Boy shirt you have at home?" And the guy just walks away, like a PUSSY!
