A halfing moment refers to an incredibly failed attempt trying to be funny, humorous, comical or amusing in any type of way. It's usually executed by a person desperate for acceptance and approval of their unexisting personality, of which they hopelessly can't get change.
That was not funny at all, such a halfing moment.
The moment when a piece of technology you've created functions properly for the first time and you cry out "IT'S ALIVE" which is ofcourse what Dr. Frankenstein did in the Mel Brooks movie when his monster came alive.
Jim experienced a Frankenstein Moment when after 2 days of trying, his model rocket finally launched.
