William Bearcroft- he's so hipster

hipster

Originally a hipster was someone who had seen through society's bullshit, or were trying to. Now it's a "lifestyle choice".

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night,

Hipster

Hipsters are people that use slang to make themselves feel unique. They dress weirdly and talk even weirder.

hipster 1: dude that's sick dog
hipster 2: that dog done be sick dough

Someone who avoids anything mainstream

Jim: No I was there before anyone else.

John: and?

Jim: Therefore I'm not going!

Jim: No I'm not!

Hipster

1. Straight men who mimic the look and style of the gay bear community, and believes every beer is meant to be hoppy.

I thought I was in a gay bar, but then I realized it was just a hipster hang out.

Hipster

Someone who acts different (or at least outside the hipster subgroup, because they obviously all act the same), but only for the purpose of being different.

"I don't have a beard, only hipsters have beards. I have a type of mustache that was only popular in the 1963 gay scene of a small mountain village near Buenos Aires. You probably never heard of it." (A Hipster, probably)

Hipster

Originally intended to be a word to describe individuals with "alternative" (as opposed to "mainstream") tastes in art and culture (and they explicitly suggest it by the way they dress etc) . However the modern adaptation of it is used very liberally. Two individuals can be each other's "hipster" if they have opposite tastes in art and culture. It is also used as a retaliation against less known art which have fan following from art critics by some people who can't relate to it.

I read a review of an album on some well known website or magazine. It has great reception. I listen to that album for myself but I don't really enjoy it. But I feel paranoid that so many other love it. Thus I declare these people as "hipsters" so I can feel that I have superior taste in music.
