When you're commenting puns back and forth with people on social media sites, blogs, comments, etc. Specifically competing to try and "out-pun" the other commentators.
I was in such a huge pun war with that girl on twitter. I couldn't lose because that would be an upsetting "PUN"-ishment.

A war that occurs once a year on dates such as 9/9/09 and 10/10/10. the War of 1337 is when clans from all over the world use Halo to prove who is 1337, or Elite.

War dialing is scanning a range of telephones (ex. 555-555-xxxx) to find all sorts of stuff, like fax machines, carriers, and BBSes (remember this was a loooong time ago)!
