pro-choice

The position you inevitably support when you realize that, no matter how strongly you are against abortion, it is a necessary evil.

Nothing more needs to be said.

anti-choice

Someone who either removes or supports the removal of the ability of an individual’s right to make choices through laws, coercion or murder.

Note: A common misconception is that those who call themselves “pro-life” are “anti-choice”: most pro-lifers are Christian and as a result believe in free will, or the freedom of an individual to make their own choices; for example to have an abortion, rob a bank, commit murder, or have sex when one is not ready to have children. However, pro-lifers largely believe that although one is free to make any choice, one should be held accountable for one's actions, especially if it hurts another human being. Furthermore, it is a pro-lifer’s belief that they should protect the rights and future choice making ability of others, especially those who cannot speak for themselves e.g.unborn persons.

Hitler was anti-choice; he removed choice making abilities of many through coercion and murder.

The rapist was anti-choice; he removed my choice to have sex with him because he forced himself upon me.

My biological mother was pro-life and not anti-choice: she gave me up for adoption instead of having an abortion, thereby allowing me to have the ability to make choices and choose what to do with my life.

Fielder's Choice

A choice made by the male involved in sexual intercourse. It refers to the moment where intercourse is interrupted due to an escape threat by the semen from the urethra of the penis.

John: Whew.
Eric: What?
John: I just got lucky. At the last minute, I grounded into a fielder's choice. If i did it any longer, I would have to get a better job caz I know she aint gettin an abortion

Pro-Choice

The self-given label of the ideological group who believe abortion should be legal and readily available; contrasts with "Pro-Life”.

Until the third trimester, an organism developing in the womb is unable to support life independently, in effect no more alive than a person in a coma with a machine operating his or her lungs. Besides which, Pro-Life supporters—if they really had an ounce of compassion in them—wouldn’t hound women who have made the often difficult and always irreversible decision of having an abortion. Granted, there are Pro-Choicers who don’t seem to think women should grieve or otherwise deal with their emotions after an abortion but I am not one of them: I believe the most important thing for a woman who has had an abortion is to learn how to accept and live with the choice. Emotion is natural to human beings and should be safely expelled rather than corked up. And it doesn’t help to show revolting (and often fake) photographs supposedly showing aborted fetuses, let alone all the other psychotic stunts these people perform (blowing up clinics, anyone? Doesn’t seem very “Pro-Life” to me.)

A person who is pro-choice believes that a life of an already-extant, fully-fledged human being takes precedence over that of an embryo or fetus.
