When a forum is often not widely visited or hardly has very many posts daily. These types of forums are usually obscure and not widely recognized. Put simply, if the average daily post count is under 475 and the average daily topic count is under 45 then it is a slow forum.

Someone who spends time in forums or on Facebook criticizing fire departments or fire service personnel and how they operate. If from a busier Dept, this person usually, if placed in the same situation as those he's criticizing, would have done the same exact thing. If from a slower Dept, this person probably hasn't ridden fire apparatus in years or at all. More frequently, this person is from a department that is relatively slow compared to the one he's criticizing. This person sometimes has a pile of certificates certifying him to perform duties that he could never do given the opportunity.
Michael says that Company "A" puts too many people in harms way. However, most company "A" personnel have reset their pagers for more fires than Michael has ever been to. Company "A" also has a great safety record. Michael probably works at radio shack and rides an ambulance more often than fire trucks, if at all. Michael is a nationally certified Forum Firefighter.

A forum for fans of the TV musical comedy Glee. Basically a place where gleeks complain about what/who they don't like on the show, and fight each other.

A situation when a user asks a question regarding a particular tool or solution and receives a lot of answers and comments on how other solutions work great, other tools provide a better experience, and the topic starter knows nothing about anything. The actual answer to the question is never provided.

Occasionally, you will encounter a forum/chat room with multiple staff types. One of these types are Drivers, which are kinda like semi-moderators, however they usually take it seriously 24/7, as they are desperate for promotion.
They are capable of using mutes and kicks and can announce messages. They are the ultimate assholes on the web. Exercise caution when approaching them.
